Recorders, Recordings, Rollicking Folk Dances, Rounds

Starting this week, rhythms become more interesting, melodies include more notes to read, and folk dances may demand a faster tempo or an additional part layered in. And recorder music for Susan's and Will's class will include new notes to expand our music.
Summers-Knoll students are so eager to move on and try new ideas. In addition to all the above, the classes mentioned are listening to and analyzing music for our Ann Arbor Symphony concert on March 19. Prior to that, the whole school will attend the UMS concert of the singing group Sweet Honey and the Rock. Our students will see and hear some of the unpitched instruments we have in our classroom in addition to tight vocal harmonies by this talented group.
All classes are learning at least one piece of music appropriate to their abilities that can be performed with another class. We will bring them together soon to hear how our collective sound gels.
